These are gig posters for ,Cape Town-based band, Bakai. The band asked me to design a series of posters for their Observatory neighbourhood tour. Their full tour poster consists of a groovy sloth which, for me, 'personifies' Bakai's synth-y and deep house tracks. Listening to their tracks, I saw a young sloth producer performing in at a Cape Town house party full of trendy art-lovers and creatives. He flicks his curly bib of locks from his eyes and locks his eyes on the most beautiful female sloth in the crowd - who's swaying her hips to the music like the waves flowing in on camps bay beach.

For the single event posters, I wanted to create something that would relate to locals. I decided to illustrate each building in which they were to gig at, and then romanticised them with neon lighting text and large signage. This way the viewers could recognise the spot but also enjoy the new imagined adaptions.

Bakai produce a live act using a combination of synths and drum machines with a vocalist whose voice will play on your heart strings. Expect sounds of house with a hint of psychedelia to permeate your body. They will fulfil a combination of your electronic and organic needs.
